Coaching Staff 2018
 
  Paul McNulty, Varsity Head Coach
Coach Mac has led the Wrecker’s Varsity lacrosse team since 2009.  In this, his seventh season, he begins with an overall lifetime record of 275 - 117 and at Staples, 84 -35.  At Wilton High School he won 3 State Championships, 2 FCIAC Championships.  2014 and 2013 both culminated with a CIAC Class L Runner Up trophy. In 2013 Coach Mac was named CT Post Coach of the Year and MSG Varsity ALL CT Team Coach of the Year. Undefeated during the regular season, Staples won the FCIAC Western Division Championship in 2010.  Mac was named 2010 FCIAC, US Lacrosse, CHSCA & CT Post Coach of the Year.  He was also named 2004 CHSCA Coach of the Year.  He has coached 21 All- Americans including 4 Staples players; 2 CT State Players of the Year;  25 All-State including 7 Staples players; 1 Staples Under Armour  All-American; 31 All-FCIAC including 3 Staples players; 35 Super Juniors including 3 Staples players.  From Staples, 22 lacrosse players including 3 from the class of 2014,  are representing or will represent Staples High School on college lacrosse teams.


Coach Mac coaches Fall PAL Lacrosse at Compo, winter indoor PAL at Staples Field House &  indoor clinics and teams at Sono Field House.  He is a summer and fall coach for the CT Chargers and runs McNulty Lacrosse youth camps, www.mcnultylacrosse.com in the summer and fall in Westport.

  Eamon Griffin, Freshman Head Coach
Coach Griffin returns to the Staples Freshman team for another season. He began coaching the Freshman team in 2008 and has been with them ever since. He played varsity lacrosse, football, and wrestled at Hopkins School, New Haven, CT. He was captain of the Varsity football team during their 1997 season. Coach Griffin was also a starter at attack on the Hopkins Varsity lacrosse team beginning in his sophomore year. As a senior, Coach Griffin suffered an ankle injury playing lacrosse that was so severe, it ended his competitive playing career.

Coach Griffin has been coaching lacrosse at the youth and high school level since 2003.  Prior to coaching at Staples, he was head coach of a 7/8 youth team in Hamden.  Before that, he was a head coach in the Eli Youth Lacrosse program in New Haven, CT.  Coach Griffin has also coached youth football in North Haven where he has served in many capacities including position coach for defensive line, linebackers, running backs and receivers.  He also served as a defensive coordinator. Griffin is a certified Connecticut teacher of Spanish K-12.  He teaches Spanish at Staples High School.
